How did you find Twirly Girls?
My friend received an e-mail about events and new businesses in Pleasanton. Twirly Girls was included in that e-mail. She thought we should try it out. Another friend grabbed the bull by the horns and scheduled a taster class for five of us. On December 2, 2009, everyone but my friend Rita Pearson flaked out. We have been hooked ever since.
How long have you been a Twirly Girl?
Almost exactly two years!
Did you pole dance before becoming a TG?
I took an intro class at S Factor in San Francisco probably a year before finding Twirly Girls. It was too difficult to get to and I couldn’t give up every single Saturday to travel into the city.
Which class(es) do you take? Who is your instructor?
I take intermediate class with Bel on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I also take aerial silks with Sarah on Wednesdays. I am planning to try Shelly’s stiletto class on Mondays!
Which move were you most excited to nail?
Inverting. I’m still not doing it regularly but it is such a rush!
Have you taken any workshops? Which was your favorite?
I’ve taken lots of workshops but I am most excited about taking Santa Baby with Diana this Sunday!
Do you like to dance in heels or barefoot?
I feel most comfortable barefoot but I want to learn how to dance in heels.
What is your favorite song to dance to (at this moment)?
Rihanna — Skin.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Too many food-related ones to name, which is why I keep struggling with my weight! haha!
I really want to thank Bel for creating such a safe and fun environment for women (and men) to learn how to find themselves and get in shape. Twirly Girls has absolutely changed my life and I am excited about all of the new adventures the next year will hold!
