June Twirly Girl of the Month: Yolanda!

How did you find Twirly Girls?

When the pole studio I was attending in my area closed, I began to search for studios online.  Among the many I visited, I knew the first time I attended Twirly Girls that it was the place for me.

How long have you been a Twirly Girl?

I attended the first time in April 2010.

Did you pole dance before becoming a TG?

Yes, I had begun my pole journey before finding Twirly Girls.

Which class(es) do you take?  Who is your instructor?

I attend the Saturday Triple T’s Mixed Class…Tricks Twirls and Transitions class with Bel.  This class meets my pole fitness goals and has a lot to offer and is worth the 2 1/2 hour drive as often as I can.

I also attend Twirly Tuff with Doug Korb on Saturday morning as often as I can.  Twirly Tuff is an awesome workout and Doug is an excellent fitness trainer.  This helps physical fitness and strength that transfers to being fit and stronger for pole.

Which move were you most excited to nail?

There are soooo many as I never thought I’d be able to accomplish half of what I have!  The Caterpillar Climb was a tough one, I also love the Shoulder Super Invert with veena grip.  And I can’t leave out The Teddy which is a recent one, it was something I would never attempt.  Thanks to Bel during Triple T’s class I was able to accomplish it!  Oh, that is more than one move. 🙂

Have you taken any workshops?  Which was your favorite?

My very first workshop was with Amber Fleur Richard.  I have taken many workshops with her, as well as few privates.  I’ve also taken workshops with Shelly Lamb, Skittles, Philip Deal, and a private with David Owen.  They were all awesome.

Do you like to dance in heels or barefoot?

What is your favorite song to dance to (at this moment)?

Actually, I don’t consider myself a pole dancer.  I dabble with pole dancing and during Triple T’s class we are encouraged to free dance for which I’m thankful, but my goal is pole fitness as my physical workout.  I just have music playing while I practice.  I don’t have any particular song or genre of music.

What is your guilty pleasure?

love Survivor.  I could also snack on Ritz crackers with peanut butter and jelly all day LOL
