How did you find Twirly Girls?
On-line. Funny story. A friend and I were hiking and taking about things we could tease some of our male buddies about. For some reason, we thought they would think it was funny if we told them we were taking pole dancing. My friend said she thought there was a place to take lessons in Berkeley so I went on line and to my surprise, I found Twirly Girls right close to home in Pleasanton. I decided to check it out and audited a class. Although I was very intimidated by the idea of being able to do it, I figured I’d give it a try. As a result, what started as a joke became something I now totally love thanks to Bel ’s patience and excellent teaching. I absolutely love being part of the Twirly Girl’s family.
How long have you been a Twirly Girl?
A little over a year and half.
Did you pole dance before becoming a TG?
Which class(es) do you take? Who is your instructor?
I take a Tuesday morning class with Bel.
Which move were you most excited to nail?
At first, it was the reverse back hook. I think it is a beautiful move. Now I am thrilled to be able to climb and sit on the pole without sliding to the floor.
Have you taken any workshops? Which was your favorite?
I took the lap dancing class and have dropped in on a few others. Don’t have a favorite. All are fun.
Do you like to dance in heels or barefoot?
When learning new moves and routines it is much easier barefoot, but like dancing in heels for fun.
What is your favorite song to dance to (at this moment)?
Been dancing to I Put a Spell on You, by Creedance Clearwater. Using it for Trick and Twirl, doing so much practicing I am hearing it in my sleep.
What is your guilty pleasure?
I don’t think I have a guilty pleasure, since I don’t do guilt. Life is but a series of events to enjoy and learn from. With that said, my passion is for traveling to places off the beaten path on this lovely planet, and of course pole dancing.
