I wanted to compete to challenge myself, I don’t really have a specific reason but I knew that during the process I would be able to push past my fears and reach some new level of confidence.
What motivates me the most is the family that I have at Twirly Girls as well as my fellow competitors who have inspired me to break out of my shell and do something that will also inspire me. Their constantly driven souls and hearts have helped me during this competition season so much, I don’t think they’ll ever understand how much they’ve helped me and taught me in this amount of time. I’ve also never felt so close to an extended family who motivates each other to no end. I am a full time film school student at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. This is my third year poling and my first ever pole competition.
Tiffany will be competting in the Level 2 Artistic Dramatic. The Artistic Dramatic event focuses less on the difficulty of the tricks executed and more on the ability to present a serious, emotional artistic interpretation of the music. In Level 2 you can invert from the ground, but dancers must maintain 3 points of contact with the pole while inverted. Level 2 must also use both spinning and the static poles.
As Mama Twirl I know I can speak for all of the family at Twirly Girls. Tiffany has taken classes with most if not all of our instructors, and has been involved with many of our Twirly Girl functions from being a pole cleaner, helping with make-up to performing her first solo at our in house event Trick or Twirl. Tiffany came to us while still in her teens, and we have seen her grow into a beautiful, amazing, kind young women! The Twirly Family will be there to cheer her on, with Kleenex in hand…Her parents and boyfriend are also making the journey to watch her first competition so their will be a lot of shouting going on….Tiffany we are so very proud of you….You will command the stage! We love you!!!
