May Twirly Girl of the Month: Alana Ayers by Mama Twirl

How did youalana find Twirly Girls? I found Twirly Girls after searching around online for pole studios. I had been toying with the idea for sometime of trying pole dance lessons and I finally decided to just try it!

How long have you been a Twirly Girl? I took my first lesson at the end of September this last year (2015)

Did you pole dance before becoming a TG? I had been a part of a bachelorette party and a girl’s day out party that were each held at different pole studios but other than that I have never done pole dancing before.

Which class(es) do you take? So far I have been a part of Bel’s beginner and beginner/intermediated triple T’s classes on Tuesdays.12916910_10153455743485373_185163836350537508_o

Who is your instructor, instructors?   My instructor thus far has been Mama Bel and Katie has been there to assist me as well and help me with my growth!

Which move were you most excited to nail? I had a really difficult time with chair, for whatever reason, and I have finally, FINALLY, been able to perform that move and perform it without difficulty.

Have you taken any workshops? I took the Sara Jade workshop and the Twerk hip hop workshop from Penny Lay!

Which was your favorite? The workshops are very different and I have enjoyed my time in each one!

Do you like to dance in heels or barefoot? I like to dance! Doesn’t matter what I am wearing. I don’t own a pair of heels for the pole yet but dancing in heels is always fun! Barefoot dancing is just easy!

What is your favorite song to dance to? (at this moment) I find a lot of inspiration in music and I listen to a lot of different types of music. I often find myself creating routines in my head, although I cannot yet perform all of the moves that are in my head.

Do you have a Pole Dream, such as performing, competing? I did my first performance this last Saturday for the Lovely Rita Fundraiser with Lori, Jade, and Katie. It was awesome and they are a wonderful group of women to work with! I have competed and performed in many activities throughout my life so I won’t say that I will never compete but it will be awhile if I ever do choose to compete as I have a lot to learn. I would be more likely to perform again at Twirly Girls; Jade, Lori, and I have already briefly talked about it.

If you wanted to say something about Twirly Girls, what would it be? Since I have been at Twirly Girls I have been having so much fun as well as being completely challenged in all new ways. I can’t wait to see where I can go and what things I will learn!

What is your guilty pleasure? I don’t know if I have a guilty pleasure. Just an occasional nice glass of white wine!

Congratulations Alana. I love how much shes bonded with Twirly Family. Shes a very fast learner and is always determined to do it right. Can’t wait for future performances with her.
