June Twirly Girl of the Month: Sue

How did you find Twirly Girls? I found TG after searching online for a pole studio near me!

How long have you been a Twirly Girl? Only since March 2017, so about three months

Did you pole dance before becoming a TG? Nope, I have no dance or gymnastics background either. I just went for it!

Which class(es) do you take? Triple T’s beginner and intermediate classes, Graceful Moves, Total Twirl, and some workshops so far.

Who is your instructor, instructors?   My instructors have been Bel, AJ, Grace, Janet, and Ellen. I love all of their different styles!

Which move were you most excited to nail? At first I thought I would never be able to do a reverse outside hook, falling backwards was so scary! Now it’s my favorite to add onto the end of almost any spit to make it a combo.

Have you taken any workshops? Yes, Janet’s spinning workshop was the hardest for me, I need to become more comfortable on spin pole. All in time…

Which was your favorite? I learned something new in all of them, and each one of them was a challenge.

Do you like to dance in heels or barefoot? I am most comfortable barefoot right now but ideally I’d love to become good at dancing in heels, I think it adds such a wow factor to pole!

What is your favorite song to dance to? (at this moment) I love anything that’s both sexy and has a lot of energy, like Rihanna.

Do you have a Pole Dream, such as performing, competing? One day! I have only been doing pole a couple months, so there is a lot more to learn and of course a lot more to smooth out. Learning is one thing, mastery is another. I try to stay focused on getting better for now. I don’t want to bite off more than I can chew, but maybe a year from now I could perform or compete!

If you wanted to say something about Twirly Girls, what would it be? Twirly Girls is honestly one of my favorite places to be. I like working hard, being creative and being around supportive people, so it’s the perfect mix for me.

What is your guilty pleasure? Shopping. Pole is really fueling my shopping addiction. Outfits, shoes…! So many options…

Although Sue hasn’t been with us that long, she has become such a part of our Twirly Family.

Constantly volunteering to help in any way. Always supportive to all the other students, and always with a smile!
